FAQ's

At Teton valley Ranch, baked potatoes are a specialty of ours and a long time family favorite of yours. We want you to enjoy our recipes and we want to answer any questions you may have regarding our products. Here are some of the more frequently asked questions that we receive and hopefully they will provide you with the answers your seeking, but if not, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

 

Allergens

Q: I am extremely allergic to peanuts. Are your products nut free?
A: Yes they are nut free, BUT some Quick Sides do contain Allergens. If you have an allergy, please refer to the list of ingredients in order to determine whether or not the Quick Side contains any ingredients which may be of concern for you. Ingredients are listed in order according to the level of content.

Q. Do you have any gluten-free entrees available?
A: Not yet, but it is in development.

General

Q: Why are there ice crystals on the top of the product when I open it?
A: There is no health risk associated with product containing some formation of ice crystals. Ice crystals form naturally on frozen foods.

Q: I’m concerned my entrée has freezer burn. Is it still okay to eat?
A: If food gets freezer burnt, it is still safe to eat. Freezer burn is the result of some moisture loss, resulting in dry spots, which can happen over time. For any freezer burned are, simply cut away the portions which are dry, either before or after cooking the food.

Q: Is it safe to heat and eat my TVR Baked Potato Quick Side once it is thawed?
A: We do recommend preparing any Quick Side once it is thawed. The quality and food safety of the product may be at risk depending on the thawing process. We recommend that you dispose of any Quick Side which has been allowed to completely thaw.

Q: My freezer was out for 6 hours. Is it still safe to eat the TVR Baked Potato Quick Side in my freezer?
A: According to the guidelines established by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, food in an upright or chest freezer should remain frozen for 24 hours during a power failure. This guideline doesn’t apply to food thawed in a refrigerator freezer. If you are unsure, please err on the side of safety, throwing out partially thawed food to avoid food illness. Q: Do you have coupons?
A:We occasionally offer cents-off coupons in local flyers, and sometimes at the grocery shelf. In addition, we suggest that you watch for special sales or promotions at your local store. Unfortunately, we do not have coupons available upon request.

Preparation

Q: I followed the cooking instructions and still found the product to be cold; in fact some ingredients were still frozen.
A: Microwave ovens do vary. If you found your quick side cold, increase the heating time in 30 second increments until the desired level of warmth is achieved.

Q: I followed the directions, and my Quick Side was burnt when I took it from the microwave. Why is this?
A: Microwave ovens do vary. If your microwave is more powerful, heat for 1 minute less than the directions, then check the temperature. Continue to heat in 30 second increments until the Quick Side reaches the desired level of warmth.

Q: Can I prepare my TVR Baked Potato Quick Side in the oven?
A: Presently, we recommend that Quick sides be prepared in a microwave only.

Nutrition

Q: Do you have any TVR Baked Potato Quick Sides that are lower in fat?
A: Lower Fat Quick Sides are under development.
